The former South Greensburg secretary that was charged with embezzling money will avoid jail time, but must repay over $155,000 that he stole over a five year time span.
The Tribune-Review reports that 54-year-old Dennis Lee Kunkle, Jr. officially pleaded guilty to six counts, including theft and tampering with public records, for stealing cash from the borough by diverting money generated for garbage fees and other sources for his own personal use.
While Kunkle will not go to jail, he will serve a year on house arrest, five years on probation, and he must also repay the remaining restitution to the borough.
