Phillips Respironics is starting to leave Western PA. The Trib reports that about 300 job cuts have been reported at the Murrysville and Upper Burrell locations. This is part of an eventual phase out of the company’s operations in the western PA region, but it’s not all bad news. The company is moving 500 jobs from the location in Bakery Square in Pittsburgh to the two sites in Westmoreland County starting in the fourth quarter of 2024. The move could mean more Philips employees will be working at three locations in Westmoreland County even as the company’s regional employment footprint shrinks.
