A Murrysville man and former Allegheny County detective is accused of asking his son to lie about where an alleged crime took place which resulted in a criminal case against him being dismissed last year. The Trib reports that 58-year-old Raymond Bonacci asked his son to say that he provided him with Adderall and testosterone in Allegheny County, not in Westmoreland County in a case that goes back to July of 2023. State police said the allegations arose during an interview process after the son applied for a job as a state trooper. Troopers said the son told the investigators that he feared being cut out of the family and being assaulted by his father, so he lied. The drug case was dismissed September 19th. Bonacci was arraigned on intimidation, retaliation and related charges Tuesday evening and is free on $100,000 unsecured bail.
