A Unity man charged in connection with a stabbing last year has pleaded guilty to lesser charges. The Trib reports that 62-year-old William Evans, Jr. was allowed to enter a guilty plea of felony aggravated assault, while other charges including attempted homicide were dismissed. Evans was drinking with the victim at the Hostetter Hotel when the victim said Evans went crazy and hit him in the head with an object and stabbed him. For his guilty plea, Evans will serve 11 and a half to 23 months in jail, but he will not be given credit for time served, nor will he be allowed early release for good behavior.
