MOTHER AND SON FILE FEDERAL LAWSUIT AGAINST GREENSBURG SALEM SCHOOL DISTRICT

A mother and her son have filed a federal lawsuit against the Greensburg Salem School District, claiming officials discriminated against the boy when he was mistreated in an elementary school special education classroom.  According to the Trib, the lawsuit claims that despite concerns that the mothers 8-year-old son was being inappropriately handled in the classroom at Robert F. Nicely Elementary, school officials did not investigate further to try and find the reason why his behaviors had changed.  The district is reviewing the lawsuit and did not offer further comment.
