Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County customers will see a 9.5% hike in their water and sewer bill starting in April. The Trib reports that the $129 million budget included the second rate hike in the last two years. Officials say that increased costs in energy, construction materials and chemicals, and expected borrowing in 2025 to pay for future infrastructure upgrades. Water customers using an average of 3000 gallons a month will see quarterly bills go up by $11.82.
