The trial of a man accused of a shooting and killing an Uber driver in Monroeville is underway in Allegheny County Court. The Trib reports that a jury heard opening statements yesterday from Calvin Crew, who is charged with the death of Christina Spicuzza in February of 2022. Prosecutors say Crew forced Spicuzza to drive to a wooded area in Monroeville, shot her and left her. She was found dead two days later by a delivery driver. The defense said Crew was innocent and that the evidence would show Spicuzza’s death was not intentional and that it was a robbery gone wrong. Testimony will resume this morning.
