WALMART CONFIRMS PURCHASE OF MONROEVILLE MALL PROPERTY

Walmart has confirmed that they have purchased the Monroeville mall property.  WTAE-TV reports that while Walmart will be the owner of the property, Cypruss Equities will serve as the property manager.  In a statement, Walmart said they were very interested in being part of any future development of the site, but they are unable to share any specific details.  A new security firm has already been hired and the company will continue to address the parking lot, cleanliness and low lighting while they gather data and community input on the development.
