State Senator Kim Ward has issued a statement on the recent remarks made by President Trump concerning Nippon Steel’s investment in U.S. Steel. Last week, the two companies asked the courts to set aside President Biden’s block on the proposed partnership. The block came as the Nippon was prepared to buy out U.S. Steel, with former President Joe Biden citing security concerns. Ward, the state Senate President Pro Tempore, complimented Trump on his statement and his wanting to take a second look at the deal. She said Trump “is correcting a failure of the Biden Administration by building global alliances that benefit America while Gov. Josh Shapiro continues to remain on the sidelines.”
