A lawyer for a New Kensington man facing a potential death sentence said on Monday in court that a defense-hired expert must review medical evidence before the case can proceed to trial. The Trib reports that Keith Lilly, Jr. is charged with criminal homicide and other crimes in connection with the death of 3-year-old Mikel Fetterman. Prosecutors said that the child died due to injuries suffered weeks before when he was allegedly shaken and sexually abused. Prosecutors were ordered to turn over autopsy pictures and medical evidence to a defense-hired pathologist. Lilly’s trial will start in May.
