Two men who police say stabbed each other in an Arnold apartment on Sunday are giving differing motives for the incident. The Trib reports that police charged 43-year-old Michael Holliday of Arnold and 54-year-old William Johnson of Homewood with aggravated assault, misdemeanor simple assault and drug offenses in connection with the stabbing in the 2000 block of Freeport road. Holliday said he accidentally stabbed Johnson, who then stabbed him in the back, while Johnson said he stabbed Holliday in self-defense. While the men were taken to the hospital, the story changed as Holliday said that the stabbing was over his refusal to give Johnson heroin, but Johnson said the stabbing started over an argument on who would clean a litter box. The two have not been arraigned as of yet.
