The man known across Western Pennsylvania as the long-time voice of the Pittsburgh Penguins has died. Team leadership has confirmed legendary broadcaster Mike Lange passed away at his home in Pittsburgh yesterday at the age of 76. The California native spent well over four decades calling Pens games before retiring ahead of the 2021 to 2022 season. Lange was behind the mic for all five of Pittsburgh’s Stanley Cup championships and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2001.
