More information has been released concerning the police-involved shooting in East Vandegrift. The Trib reports that 52-year-old Lyle Cessna of East Vandegrift was shot by law enforcement on February 14th outside his home on McKinley Avenue. The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and State Police was serving an arrest warrant on a charge of incest. He tried to hurt himself after encountering police, but his gun malfunctioned. Cessna then aimed his gun toward police, and he was shot in response. Cessna was arraigned yesterday morning as he remains in the hospital from the shooting. A preliminary hearing is set for March 11th.
