IDLEWILD, KENNYWOOD, AND SOAKZONE HAVE NEW OWNERS

Idlewild and Soakzone, Kennywood and Sandcastle have new owners.  WTAE-TV reports that Herschend Entertainment has purchased Palace Entertainment’s US Amusement Parks.  The deal was announced yesterday by Herschend and Parques Reunidos, the parent company of Palace entertainment.  No immediate changes to day-to-day operations are planned and the new owners promise a smooth transition.  Other parks that are under Herschend’s ownership include Dollywood in Tennessee, Dutch Wonderland and the Cartoon Network Hotel in Pennsylvania and Silver Dollar City in Missouri.
