A power plant in Indiana County is scheduled to be demolished on Saturday. A news release issued yesterday from Homer City Redevelopment LLC said that the iconic smokestacks will be imploded at 7:30 Saturday morning, weather permitting. All access areas to the blast zone, including hiking trails, ATV paths and roads will be closed off until the process is complete. Homer City Redevelopment officials say this is part of the process of converting the power plant from coal to natural gas.
