One person was hospitalized as first responders put out a fire at the home of a Westmoreland 911 dispatcher in Derry Township this morning. WTAE-TV reports the fire was reported just after midnight at a home in the 2500 block of Raymond Street. The fire started in the back of the home and moved towards the front. Everyone was able to get out of the house, but a woman was sent to a Pittsburgh area hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation. Derry Fire Department Chief Mark Piantine said that she was trying to save some of the pets living in the home. The house was destroyed. The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical.
