The National Weather Service says there is an elevated risk of fire spread this afternoon. In a statement, the NWS says that minimum relative humidity in Westmoreland and Indiana Counties will range from 20 to 30 percent, and it will be accompanied by wind gusts of 20 to 30 miles an hour. People are advised to be careful with potential ignition sources like machinery, matches or cigarettes. If dry grass and tree brush begin to burn, the fire could spread quickly.
