WESTMORELAND COMMISONERS EXPECTED TO APPROVE TAX AUCTION AND SHERIFF SALE SURCHARGE

Westmoreland commissioners are expected to approve a tax auction and sheriff sale surcharge in the county. A measure that would set up the additional 250-dollar fee is going before commissioners at their meeting later today. The fee will generate an estimated 75-thousand dollars to help cover demolition and rehab costs for abandoned properties. If passed, it will go into effect in July.
