STANDOFF IN MONESSEN

State Police Special Emergency Response Team members are involved in a standoff in Monessen.  The Trib reports that police were trying to serve a search warrant at 4:30 this morning at a home on Leeds Avenue connected with a shooting late Thursday near Marion and Leeds Avenues.  One person was hurt in that shooting and was taken to Penn Highlands Mon Valley hospital before being flown to a medical facility in Pittsburgh.  Officials say that he is expected to survive his injuries.  The person involved in the standoff refused to let police in and did not come out himself.  People are advised to avoid the area.
