MONESSEN MAN SENTENCED

A Monessen man was sentenced on Friday for a stabbing that happened in 2023.  The Trib reports that 62-year-old Robert Varner was ordered to serve a mandatory 2-4 year prison  sentence and five years of probation for the stabbing on June 28th of 2023 after an argument at the Valley Manor apartments.  In December, Varner pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime and reckless endangerment, while other crimes were dismissed.
