A garbage truck driver is suing Penn Township and an area resident claiming he was run over by his own truck after hit hit a leaning and overhanging tree. The Trib reports that Republican Services driver Tyler Spade of Uniontown claimed he was driving on Dutch Hollow Road near Baughman Road last August when the right rear ladder and corner of his refuse truck hit the tree, causing him to be thrown from the truck, and as the vehicle veered left, his legs were run over before the truck went over a berm and down an embankment. Spade is seeking an unspecified amount of damages in the lawsuit, saying the township was negligent for not maintaining the roadway.
