The last remnant of a power plant was demolished in Indiana County on Sunday. After the implosion of several smokestacks and cooling towers at the former Homer City Generating Station, a portion of the tallest tower remained in place. Homer City Redevelopment said that the site will be redeveloped to become a natural-gas-fueled power plant, using utilizing infrastructure to send electricity to the grid and also is expected to power AI centers as well. Construction could start later this year.
