The leader of Jeannette City Schools says he wants to be proactive when it comes to stopping human trafficking. Superintendent Matt Jones invited Westmoreland County officials and an area nonprofit to Jeannette High School yesterday evening for a community discussion on the topic. Jones says he is not aware of any incidents of trafficking that have impacted students but he wants to provide them with information that may help keep them safe. About 85 percent of the human trafficking that goes on in Westmoreland County is carried out by friends, family, or intimate partners of victims, according to experts.
