The Norwin School Board last night voted to censure one of its directors over what the majority of the board deemed to be offensive language in a social media post aimed at other school board members. The Trib reports that Alex Deschelt was targeted for language used in a post on his Substack page in late January. The resolution states that Deschelt’s statements were not consistent with the district’s “shared values and principles of responsible leadership” and calls for Deschelt to resign. Deschelt did not attend the meeting, but in a statement, said that for the second time, the board has disregarded free speech issues and he said he will retaliate with a lawsuit.
