The Kiski Area school board decided not to renew the contract of a girls soccer coach because of criminal charges filed against her husband.
KDKA-TV reports the move came after several complaints from the board Monday night during their meeting against Melissa O’Toole. Her husband, Ryan, is charged with allegedly having sex with a girl in his car, and kissing and groping students at Kiski High. The parents said they were not comfortable with the child being coached by the wife of someone accused of assault, while Melissa’s supporters said that putting a new coach in place would set the team back.
O’Toole’s case is working its way through the court system.
