A Westmoreland County judge ruled yesterday that the outburst of a teenage girl while testifying before a jury did not prejudice their decision to convict a man on sexual assault charges. The Trib reports that Common Pleas Court Judge Meghan Billik-Defazio ruled that the verdict against Jerry Boring will stand. He was convicted last April on charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault and others, and was ordered to serve 10-20 years in prison. Defense attorneys claimed her outburst on the stand warranted a new trial, but the judge disagreed, saying the victim’s outburst on the stand was “not necessarily unlike other victims of such offenses.”
