Leaders of Nippon Steel are looking to meet with federal officials in an effort to revive their proposal to acquire U.S. Steel. Corporate officers with the Japanese firm announced their plans to reporters in Tokyo yesterday. Former President Biden blocked the nearly 15-billion-dollar merger at the tail end of his term, citing national security concerns. President Trump has not indicated that he would reverse the decision made by Biden but he has said he would be alright with Nippon taking a minority stake in U.S. Steel.
