As St. Patrick’s Day approaches, local authorities are reminding drivers to not drink and drive. The Trib reports that State and Municipal Authorities are teaming up with PennDOT District 12, the Highway Safety Network and the PA DUI association on an impaired driving campaign that starts today and runs through March 17th. Last year, there were eight crashes in Westmoreland County on St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Four were either alcohol or drug-related and eight people were hurt.
