LAYOFFS AT FIRSTENERGY

FirstEnergy corporation has announced the layoff of 75 employees across Pennsylvania.  The Trib reports that the layoffs are part of a corporate-wide restructuring that will impact 350 of its employees.  While the 75 positions were eliminated, others were expanded to make sure the parent company of West Penn Power can continue to operate efficiently.  No word on how many of those who were laid off were West Penn Power employees.
