Dozens gathered outside the Pennsylvania State Capitol yesterday to commemorate Transgender Day of Visibility. Since 2010, March 31st has been observed as a day to recognize the transgender community while drawing attention to the poverty and violence it faces. This year’s day comes after a number of executive orders from President Trump curtailing the rights of transgender Americans, including their ability to serve in the military, participate in school sports and getting government documentation. Speakers at the rally called on Pennsylvania lawmakers to protect the LGBT community.
