A Unity Township man was rescued from Loyalhanna Creek on Friday afternoon. The Trib reports that the Unity Fire Departments and the county’s Swift Water Rescue Team were called out just after 4 PM for a man floating in the creek, with crews determining that the best place for the rescue would be Latrobe City Hall, but when the 911 caller said they were not able to see the victim, more first responders were notified. A DCNR officer and a member of the Bradenville fire department were able to get to the floating man, believed to be in his 60s, and got him to the hospital.
