The upcoming demolition and renovation of the home bleachers at the Norwin High School football stadium will be cheaper than originally anticipated, according to the low bid that came in for the project. The Trib reports that the district had originally estimated $25 million for the upgrades, but R.A. Glancy and Sons of Hampton submitted a bid of $19.9 million, with the option of spending another $400,000 for some additional work if requested. Along with the electrical, mechanical and other utility work, the total for the project is a half-million under budget. The bids will be reviewed by district officials and bidders are invited to a preconstruction meeting on Friday. The contracts will be awarded on April 21st.
