NEW KEN BIOLOGY TEACHER RECOGNIZED NATIONALLY

A biology teacher at New Kensington’s Valley High School is being recognized nationally for the impact she is making on students.  Kathy Jo Sagwitz was chosen as the grand prize winner in the Shell Science Lab Regional Challenge, a competition that is administered by the National Science Teaching Association.  The award came with a 20-thousand dollar lab makeover for her classroom.  Sagwitz and Valley High Principal Jon Banko travelled to Philadelphia to accept the award at the NSTA national conference last month.
