Westmoreland County Prosecutors will not appeal a ruling that overturned a conviction in a 30-year-old murder and arson case involving a former Jeannette man. The Trib reports that assistant DA Leo Ciaramitaro said that the case against James Young will proceed. He was convicted in 1995 of setting a fire in 1993 that killed his wife and two young children. After years of appeals, Judge Christopher Feliciani found Young’s convictions were based on debunked science that classified the fire as arson, Another pretrial conference is set for June but the retrial date has not been set.
