MAWC HIRES GEORGIA-BASED COMPANY TO PAY ITS VENDORS

The Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County has hired a Georgia-based company to pay its vendors.  The Trib reports that this is a trial run with Repay of Atlanta that could bring the authority up to $180,000 in additional revenue through commissions.  The deal is in response to a fraud scheme that resulted in the theft of $826,000 last June.  Investigators were able to recover most of those losses, while the rest were covered by insurance.
