WHJB at the St. Benedict’s Parish Festival in Marguerite – July 10

It was a beautiful day at St. Benedict’s Parish Festival in Marguerite! Lora Kay, Jimmy Lee, and Cindy Perino had a great time celebrating the Feast of St. Benedict and meeting all of of the wonderful parishioners! There was bingo, instant bingo, chuck-a luck, dime toss, 50/50, a basket raffle, delicious food, and St. Benedict’s famous lemonade!

WHJB at the 2022 Shop N Save Westmoreland County Air Show – June 11-12

Lora Kay and Cindy Perino were at the 2022 Shop N Save Westmoreland County Air Show. There was something for everyone and excitement in the air! In honor of our fallen veterans and first responders, Saturday’s airshow featured a special “Flight of the Flags” ceremony. Families of deceased service men and women and first responders who have received trifold flags in their honor, had the opportunity to “fly” those flags in a WWII plane. It was a very moving tribute to honor deceased veterans.

WATT’S TRUCK CENTER TRUCK SHOW – Aug. 21, 2021

Lora Kay and Jimmy Lee were out in New Alexandria at the Watts 14th annual Truck Show. We got to see a lot of our good friends and a lot of really cool trucks and cars. A good time as always!!!

BLACKBURN CENTER – Jan. 31, 2020

Lora Kay attended the expansion for the Blackburn Center, which will allow even more services to be provided for the community.

Lora Kay interviewed Tiko Angelichio at a media event for the updated version of the DaVinci surgical robot at Latrobe Area Hospital.

Lora Kay attended the random acts of kindness event at Faith Forward in Latrobe. They wrapped up hundreds of gifts that were donated to them by the community and sent representatives out handing out gifts for Christmas. They just wanted people to feel special. They asked for nothing in return. Lora was honored to be asked to stop in and she took some pictures of the volunteers helping out.

WHJB’s Lora Kay interviewed Trooper Steve Limani at the Greensburg Walmart today during the Shop with a Cop event!

We were proud to be part of the City of Greensburg Holiday Parade on Saturday. We also had the opportunity to walk with Animal Friends of Westmoreland, who had dogs with them that were up for adoption. It was a great time!

Lora Kay and Jimmy Lee were out at the new branch of InFirst Bank in Greensburg, on Georgia Station Road from 11:00 to 1:00. The friendly folks at InFirst are waiting to help you with all your banking needs.

Jimmy Lee and Lora  were out at the Greensburg and Hempfield Township Fire Departments’ Fire Prevention Night that happened Tuesday, the 8th at Westmoreland Mall. Lots of fun and lots of cute kids!

Lora Kay and Jimmy Lee were out in Youngwood Saturday at the Holy Cross Church Festival again this year from 6:00 to 8:00. There was homemade food, basket raffles and lots of friendly folks!

WHJB fans, on Saturday Lora Kay and Jimmy Lee attended the Valley Dairy Great American Banana Split Festival that is going on all this weekend in downtown Latrobe. It’s the 115th anniversary of the creation of the banana split by Dr. Strickler. Everyone had lots of fun with live music, food vendors and local businesses.

Watt’s Truck Car and Equipment Show – August 17, 2019

Lora Kay and Jimmy Lee attended the 12th annual Watt’s Truck Car and Equipment Show in New Alexandria today (Saturday the 17th). They had even more trucks and cars than usual and they had a blast!

Latrobe Arts Center – July 18, 2019

WHJB is helping the arts in Westmoreland County. We recently sponsored an award given to a local artist, presented at a ceremony at the Latrobe Arts Center on Thursday, July 18th. Lora Kay presented the award.

Phantom Fireworks Grand Opening Celebration – June 22, 2019

Suzy Person and Jimmy Lee Santorella were at the Phantom Fireworks Grand Opening Celebration from 12-2 pm. The ribbon-cutting was at 12:30. Special guests were Iceburgh and Phil Borque! Phantom Fireworks is located at 135 Donohoe Road, Greensburg (formerly Toys R Us).

Friday May 24th and Saturday May 25th, WHJB was out at Greensburg Community Days at Lynch field. Lora emceed on the stage all day Saturday for all the fabulous local entertainment.

Career Day was sponsored by Phelpe Federal Credit Union and was held at The Ramada in Greensburg on Thursday May 9, 2019. 370  5^th grade children from Penn Trafford Middle Schools participated in a Career Workshop with WHJB FM among the exhibitors. Jimmy Lee Santorella and Toni Hostetler led the children in presenting Radio Broadcasting.

ARTS WALK – APRIL 27, 2019

We attended the Arts Walk at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, where visitors had a chance to visit local vendors in Greensburg and the museum for special shows and exhibits.

WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES

The crew from WHJB attended the Blackburn Center’s Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event held Saturday, April 13th at St. Clair Park in Greensburg. More than 1,500 Walkers attended this year, more than ever before! The walk supports the Blackburn Center’s mission to end sexual assault and gender violence.
